JBK and Bradley Holmes entertain British Filipinos

Updated: Feb 23, 2021

It is not often that we see Filipino celebrities up close and personal in London. The big stars are so big we do not even get to hobnob with them, maybe they hide from the Filipino public, or they are closely guarded by their entourage. Remember the Barrio Fiestas when ABS-CBN stars come to perform annually - they are behind barriers and tall walls with bulky guards? Even last week, two mega-ABS CBN stars [James Reid and Nadine Lustre] have been shooting a film quietly in London. Not so with JBK and Bradley Holmes. True they are not as big as the stars that come for the Barrio Fiestas or who shoot films in the UK. But both JBK and Bradley Holmes are definitely on the path to stardom in the Philippines particularly, and among Overseas Filipinos. In their series of concerts in the UK in late January and early February 2018, the two acts have been definitely close to the Filipino community audience. Singing to them, going down the stage to be with them, bringing them up the stage, taking selfies, singing duets. The concerts are fronted by Gaga Lord, the lady who sang and danced the tune Diamonds are Forever, at her X-Factor audition accompanied by X-Factor judges Nicole Scherzinger and Alesha Dixon, at the behest of the majordomo himself, Simon Cowell. Another front act is Nina Espinosa from Tawag ng Tanghalan whose energy serves to uplift the spirit of the audience. Catch them in York on Sat 3 Feb, Colchester on 4 Feb and for a return to London later next week. In Colchester they will be joined by British-Filipina star Gia Macuja (Miss Saigon, Here Lies Love etc). Co-produced by Simply C with Alcanmobile Ltd, Aadam Brown & Cherry Jadraque, with sponsorship by Megaworld International, Philippine Airlines, Department of Tourism Bring a Friend/Its More Fun in the Philippines Programme and Arbonne, and donours such as Romulo Cafe, Eric Pilapil, Philip de Vera, and Alcantara Consultancy Services. ABOUT JBK They're Joshua, Bryan & Kim! The 3-member boy band which featured on X-Factor UK recently and reached the Six-Chair Challenge. Hailed as the Millennial Trio of the X Factor UK 2017. Today, they are the hottest and uprising pop premier trio boyband. Currently on album tour with their latest single LETTING YOU GO also now an online hit garnering 1.3 million hits since it was released. Indeed they are the newest internet sensation. They impressed the judges of The X Factor UK in one of the episode of the reality singing programme. They flew from Manila to London to audition for the show, covering Sam Smith’s track Lay Me Down. They fought for the last seat to the judges’ home with their rendition of a Boyz II Men classic, “I’ll Make Love To You.” X-Factor UK judge Nicole Scherzinger walked out after fellow judge Simon Cowell decided not to give the last seat to JBK at the show’s six-chair challenge. Some may not have all the luck, but as for JBK, their experience with the X Factor UK opened more doors for them to stardom. Upon their arrival in the Philippines after the X Factor experience, it led them to all sorts of Media exposure, from print to broadcast, name it, and they were all over the news. And now, back in the UK, we have and will continue definitely to experience and see how this Millennial Trio made history in the Philippine Entertainment Industry. They have been invited by Willie Revillame to be part of the Wowowin programme, and one of their compositions is now being used in a teleserye on GMA7.
